1. BSc Nursing

Duration: 4 Years

About the Course:

The B.Sc. Nursing program is a comprehensive undergraduate course designed to train professional nurses who are capable of delivering quality healthcare across settings. The curriculum focuses on subjects like medical-surgical nursing, community health nursing, child health nursing, mental health nursing, and midwifery. Students gain clinical experience through hospital training, community postings, and simulation labs. 2. Post Basic BSc Nursing

Duration: 2 Years

About the Course:

The Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course at SIMS is designed for GNM holders who wish to upgrade their qualifications to a bachelor’s degree. It builds on the knowledge gained during GNM training and includes subjects like nursing research, nursing education, psychology, and health administration. The course equips students with advanced clinical and decision-making skills. It opens pathways for leadership roles in nursing, teaching positions, and higher education in nursing specialties.

A two-year advanced program for registered nurses (GNM graduates) who want to upgrade their qualifications and expand career opportunities.

Purpose:

3. General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

Duration: 3 Years

Affiliation: HNB Uttarakhand Medical University

Internship: Included in 3rd Year

About the Course:

The GNM course trains students in general nursing practices and midwifery. It focuses on the care of individuals, families, and communities in hospitals and homes. The program includes anatomy, physiology, community health, nutrition, and child health nursing. Students undergo rigorous training in practical nursing and maternal care, making them competent to handle a wide range of healthcare duties. Upon completion, graduates can work in hospitals, maternity homes, community health centers, and nursing homes.
