The Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) is a 4-year undergraduate paramedical degree regulated by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). This allied health science program is uniquely dual-focused, training students to diagnose, evaluate, and treat disorders related to hearing, balance, speech, and language across both pediatric and adult populations. The curriculum spans 3 years of academic and practical coursework paired with a mandatory 1-year clinical internship inside hospitals and rehabilitation centers. Students dive deep into diverse subjects like the anatomy of the head and neck, acoustics, linguistics, neurological communication disorders, and advanced therapies involving hearing aids and cochlear implants. Upon graduating, professionals must register with the RCI to legally practice as clinical audiologists or speech-language therapists, qualifying them to open private clinics or work directly within top-tier hospitals, ENT centers, special education schools, and hearing aid development firms.
